Journal of Nepal Medical Association (JNMA) is an internationally peer-reviewed, MedLine/PubMed indexed, a monthly general medical journal published by Nepal Medical Association. Journal of Nepal Medical Association is published monthly by the Nepal Medical Association since 1963.

Funding
All expenses of JNMA are incurred by the Nepal Medical Association. It is also supported by Madhur-Ramesh JNMA trust and Anjani-Mukti-Kedar Trust. The print version of the journal is supported by the Ministry of Health, Government of Nepal.

Publication Charge Policy
JNMA does not charge any fees for submission, article processing, publication and reading. The priority will be given to the scientifically conducted research by developing countries’ authors to help their work visible to the scientific communities.

Archiving Policy
The print version and digital version of the journal are archived in the NMA Library by Nepal Medical Association. Further, JNMA is looking forward to making digital archives in the most trusted platform.

Privacy Policy
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. However, the email and phone number of the corresponding author will be made available in correspondence detail of the article, to make it available in a good faith that like-minded people e.g. researchers could contact them.

Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. JNMA allow readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allows readers to use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as the author and journal are properly credited, which ensures maximum dissemination and a wider impact of our publications.

The authors (or their employers) retain copyright in their work. Complaint Policy
For any concern or complaint regarding publication misconduct, please email at complain@jnma.com.np with your name, affiliation, address with phone number. The privacy of the person will be maintained as long as legally permitted. According to the nature of the complaint, JNMA will take appropriate action.

Conflict of Interest
We require the author, peer reviewer, editors and editorial staff to disclose any potential conflict of interest related to the article and publishing process. We request authors to use the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form prepared by ICMJE which is a Uniform Disclosure Form for Potential Conflicts of Interest as a means of promoting a standardised approach to such declarations. Please download from HERE, fill out the form and submit it to us for disclosure of potential conflict of interest.

Protection of Research Participants and Patients’ Rights to Privacy
When reporting studies on humans, indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional or regional) and with the WMA Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects. When reporting experiments on animals, indicate whether the institutions or a national research council’s guide for or any national law on the care and use of laboratory animals were followed. Evidence of approval by a local Ethics Committee (for both human as well as animal studies) must be supplied by the authors on demand. Animal experimental procedures should be as humane as possible and the details of anaesthetics and analgesics used should be clearly stated. The ethical standards of experiments must be in accordance with the guidelines provided by the CPCSEA (animal) and ICMR (human). The journal will not consider any paper which is ethically unacceptable. A statement on ethics committee permission and ethical practices must be included in all research articles under the METHODS section.
Case Report: Do not use patients’ names, initials, or hospital numbers, especially in the illustrative material in the article. Please download Case Report Consent Form, after taking consent, keep this form with the patient’s medical record chart. A copy of this form must be supplied by the authors on demand.

Research and Publication Ethics Policy
JNMA is the first medical journal and the pioneer in Nepal to introduce to submit “Ethical Approval Letter” for all research articles submitted to JNMA. Maintaining research integrity is a shared responsibility among readers, researchers, authors, peer reviewers and editors. We take great care to make sure that the research article has maintained such integrity.
However, if you suspect any misconduct in our published article, please report to us. JNMA reserve the right to investigate misconduct in any suspected article submitted or published in the JNMA. We will collaborate and communicate with relevant and concerned authorities to maintain ethics in research and publication.
